HERDING CATS
by Lucinda Coxon
Hampstead Theatre
2011
Justine talks too much to get work off her chest. Michael chats to strangers for a living – Saddo’s one of them. But what use are words when you’re up against it in the wintry city? And Christmas is coming… ready or not.
Lucinda Coxon’s masterful and chillingly funny play freeze-frames a generation negotiating intimacy and distance.
Herding Cats premiered at Ustinov Theatre in Bath before being transferred by David Luff Productions to Hampstead Theatre, playing a critically acclaimed season over Christmas 2011. The play was nominated for a Theatre Award UK 2011 for Best New Play.
